"Best hot pot in town in terms of quality, price, ambiance, and service."
"Food was delivered pretty quickly and the service staff was generally friendly."
"Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, enough that we will return and bring our uncle!!!"
5 The lambs are happy, but I’m happier. This is my family’s go-to hot pot spot because it truly checks every box. The location is easy to get to with plenty of parking, the menu is huge with something for everyone, and the renovated space is modern, bright, and spacious. The food is incredibly fresh (you can literally watch staff slicing the lamb to order), and the soup bases are unique, nourishing, and thoughtfully done—including traditional Chinese herbal options. The sauce bar is fully loaded with dessert options, the robot servers are fun, the human staff are fantastic, and best of all, the bill doesn’t give you a heart attack (looking at you, Haidilao). Absolute 20/10.
4 First time back after a long while. We 3 shared a couple’s set and it was enough. The ingredients were fresh and the broth excellent. They have specials on the menu. I’m interested in returning for the ayce lunch; only $18.99; that’s just for two types of meat, it’s added cost gor the broth and other ingredients.
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ TL;DR: Good food and quality, but late-night service could be communicated better. Overall, the hot pot was good and we enjoyed the food. Quality was solid and everything tasted fresh enough, but the experience felt a bit rushed because we went late and weren’t clearly informed about closing details. Food The food itself was good and flavorful. They offer half portions, which is great if you select them intentionally. Normally, when we go earlier in the day, there are more options and things feel fresher and more diverse. Since it was late, we’re not sure if some items were already unavailable. Timing and service We went late at night, and while I completely understand they were closing, we weren’t clearly told about the timing. We ended up having to order à la carte, and the food came a bit late, which was fine, but it made the experience feel rushed. They also took payment in the middle of the meal, which felt a bit awkward, but again, understandable given the time. Sauce buffet The sauce buffet was $3 per person, which is okay, but usually this is included or free at many other hot pot places, and those places also tend to have more variety. Final thoughts Good food and overall a decent experience. I just wish there had been clearer communication about closing time and menu limitations. Totally understandable given how late it was, but a heads-up would’ve made the experience smoother. I’d come back earlier in the day for a better experience.
5 20250930 It was my first time trying Happy Lamb. I originally wanted to go for the all-you-can-eat beef and lamb set, but since I didn’t have a big appetite, the waitress suggested ordering à la carte instead — which gave us more variety. The large platter of meat looked amazing, and the ice sculpture on top was shaped like a little lamb — such a nice touch! I really loved that detail.
5 I've only been to the Happy Lamb at Broadway. This is very different. There is an option off-menu to AYCE for 19$ but only for one kind of meat. But we found that ordering everything ala carte wasnt a bad price at all. Great quality, a decently wide selection, and a helpful staff.
5 We had the Luxury Couple Set and it was an incredible experience! The quality of the Wagyu beef and lamb shoulder was top tier. so fresh and tender. The two types of hot pot broth were rich and flavorful, and the lamb skewers were perfectly seasoned. Excellent service and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for premium hot pot in Richmond!
5 Loved dinner at Happy Lamb Hot Pot! Rich, tasty bone marrow broth. Super fresh premium lamb slices, beef, veggies, and seafood. AYCE was awesome value, friendly service, clean and fun vibe. Soft drinks + ice cream included. Perfect for a rainy Vancouver evening, will definitely go back! Highly recommend!
5 Happy lamb is always a pretty good spot. Its comparable to Dolar which I find is slightly better but still consistent. We normally only order waygu when we come and it isn't too pricey. The service is alright, staff are attentive and are pretty good and only a rare few aren't exactly fluent in english. Not the best value but still very good! Parking is always available since its at the mall.
